May 23rd 1934: Bonnie and Clyde killed

On this day in 1934 the infamous American bank robbing duo Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were ambushed by police and killed in Louisiana. Bonnie and Clyde and their gang were outlaws who robbed banks and killed several police officers and civilians from 1931 to 1934. The couple became legendary for their exploits and their love story, especially after Arthur Penn’s 1967 film ‘Bonnie and Clyde’.

My siblings and I are watching total recall and its actually a really good movie. It’s exactly my type of movie.
I feel like the only reason I love these movies are because they reflect who I want to be.
I wish I was adventurous enough and empathetic enough to love someone so much that I would hurt another human being to save them. Obviously, the given warrant is that the person I loved did not cause the destruction themselves.

I am empathetic enough to feel some humanity in the known “monstrous” and immoral human beings in our society. I think as human beings we have gotten so used to seeing ourselves in the hierarchy of the animal kingdom that we no longer see ourselves as just that: animals. Humanity holds a high level of animalistic behavior.
Yet, we have gotten so used to seeing animal behavior as immoral, but what is morality?

I think we should all Think about this: where do most of our views of general morality originate? Why do we feel so strongly about them?

Maybe our views of morality are general ideologies that most animals are known to have:
° Protect yourselves and your young.
° Try to survive at all cost.

What we know as “humanity”, our moral views, are traits common in household pets. We are not that much more advanced. We are not that much different from the human beings we label as “monstrous”.

I ponder over this thought constantly.
